ANote partners with producer Steve James to list “In the Name of Love” and other mega hits to music fans and investors

Luxembourg, 17 FEBRUARY 2023 - ANote Music (“ANote”), Europe’s leading marketplace for investing in music royalties, is pleased to announce a new music catalogue listing from the multi-talented American artist/producer Steve James. The Steve James Producer catalogue features five songs within the Pop and Electronic Dance Music (EDM) genres, produced by Steve James in collaboration with internationally acclaimed artists such as Justin Bieber, Martin Garrix ft Bebe Rexha, the Backstreet Boys, Andy Grammer and British girl group Little Mix.

The biggest production in this catalogue is  “In the Name of Love”, a collaboration between the Dutch super star DJ Martin Garrix and American singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha. The song was released as the lead single on Garrix’s third EP and was a big commercial success, reaching the top 10 of the charts all over the world and generating over a billion streams on Spotify alone and over 700 million streams on YouTube. Also included in the catalogue and driving a lot of royalty income is “Power” by Little Mix. Originally released in 2016, remixed in 2017 featuring additional vocals of rapper Stormzy and receiving renewed attention after becoming viral on TikTok in July 2022. The other songs in the catalogue are performed by big internationally acclaimed artists as well: Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” served as the title track of his fourth album. The Backstreet Boys’ “Nobody Else” was released as the 2nd track on their 2019 DNA album, an album that went to number one in many countries and had  particular big success in Japan, and for the last production in this catalogue, Steve James collaborated with singer/songwriter Andy Grammer for the uplifting pop song “Best of You”.

Stephen James Philibin, better known by his stage name Steve James, says: "I'm super excited to be listing my catalogue on ANote Music. It's been an awesome experience seeing royalties come in from these songs over the years, and I love that ANote’s platform offers listeners and fans an opportunity to take a share in that. Now, when they hear one of these songs at the gym or on the radio, they can share that feeling of knowing they own a part of it. On top of that, this partnership offers an incredible opportunity for me to finance my own music as an artist and step out from behind those who I've produced for in the past. Overall, what ANote is doing truly feels like it will be a big part of the ever-changing economy around music that will benefit fans and artists alike.”

Marzio F. Schena, founder and CEO of ANote Music, says: “Most people I ever met know that I have this “work hard, play hard” mentality and that I don’t shy away from a good party or festival. It’s an incredible personal pleasure to welcome Steve James’ catalogue to our platform and see that fans can now also share in the royalties from a song such as ‘In the Name of Love’. I imagine that many people - just like me -   have incredible memories dancing to that song, so that owning a piece of it automatically becomes much more than just an investment, but also something with an emotional connection. And let’s not forget about the other mega-hits in this catalogue, which are one-by-one all amazing productions with an interesting track record and huge performing artists collaborating on them with Steve.”

As the first European player to redefine how the music industry is financed, ANote Music offers entrepreneurial music rights holders the chance to retain their independence through listing a portion of their music royalty interest up for auction. Likewise, investors and music fans can directly own shares of their favourite hits, and then trade and exchange these shares with other investors on ANote Music’s innovative secondary market.

The opportunity, for which Steve James is listing 50% of his share of Producer royalty income will be listed for the entire Life of Rights on the ANote Music platform and will give investors the right to receive passive cash flows deriving from a catalogue that has experienced consistent yearly royalties (observed over the past 4 years), with the majority of the royalties mainly originating from digital audio streaming.
